ESR has recalled 33,000 HaloLock wireless power banks, available in 6,000mAh and 10,000mAh models, due to risks of lithium-ion battery overheating and ignition, which create fire and burn hazards. These affordable alternatives to Apple's MagSafe accessories offer slower 7.5W wireless charging and were sold through Amazon, Home Depot, and ESR's online stores in the US and Canada between September 2023 and July 2025. The US Consumer Product Safety Commission reported nine incidents of the power banks catching fire and causing around $20,000 in property damage, but no injuries. The recall includes models 2G520, 2G505B, and 2G512B, distinguishable by five circular LED lights and varying colors. Consumers should immediately stop using these devices and contact ESR for a full refund by sending a photo of the power bank with the model number and “recalled” written on it to support@esrtech.com.
