Cloud Chamber, the studio working on the new BioShock game, is laying off over 80 employees, cutting about one-third of its staff. This announcement comes as the game's release, originally planned for late 2026 or early 2027, has been delayed. The development of the new BioShock title has faced significant challenges. To steer the project back on track, 2K Games has appointed Rod Fergusson, known for his leadership on Blizzard's Diablo and BioShock Infinite, to lead Cloud Chamber. 2K Games president David Ismailer stated that the team is reworking core gameplay elements, leading to the reduction in staff and extended development time. Take-Two has not commented on the situation yet.
