Progress on $550B US-Japan Investment Pact Highlights AI and Semiconductor Focus
Japan’s trade minister announced that significant emphasis will be placed on artificial intelligence and semiconductor discussions in the third phase of the $550 billion US investment deal. Previous rounds concentrated mainly on energy and minerals. Unlike Japan and the US, the EU does not have a similar agreement but has pledged to purchase at least $40 billion worth of US AI chips.
