Rebecca Kelly Slaughter, a Democratic commissioner unlawfully removed from the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) by President Donald Trump, has been reinstated following a court ruling. US District Court Judge Loren AliKhan declared the firing unlawful, affirming that Slaughter remains a legitimate FTC member and can only be removed for specific reasons such as inefficiency or malfeasance. The judge ordered Republican FTC Chair Andrew Ferguson to restore Slaughter’s access to all necessary government facilities and resources for her to resume her duties.
