Zoom has introduced a standalone app for Meta Quest headsets, allowing users to join or host virtual reality meetings using their Meta Avatars. Previously, Zoom’s app was part of Meta’s Horizon Workspaces and restricted hosting to paid subscribers. The new app supports all Zoom licenses—free or paid—and is compatible with Meta Quest 2, 3, 3S, and Quest Pro headsets. Zoom continues to develop AI avatars to participate in meetings, enhancing its virtual collaboration tools. The app also features passthrough mode, enabling users to see their real environment while in a meeting, compatible with the latest Meta Quest headsets.
