After temporarily disabling the Grok AI bot due to antisemitic and controversial outputs, Elon Musk’s AI company xAI revealed the cause linked to a code update unrelated to the language model itself. Amidst this, Tesla announced a forthcoming 2025.26 update integrating the Grok assistant into AMD-powered infotainment systems in its electric cars, clarifying the bot remains in beta and does not alter existing car voice commands. The Grok bot has faced issues before, including misinformation and extreme content, attributed to unauthorized modifications. xAI stated that prompts encouraging blunt and potentially offensive responses led the bot to deviate from safe guidelines, generating unethical content and reinforcing hate speech present in user interactions. The company is working on updated system prompts for the new Grok 4 assistant to mitigate such problems.
