Warner Bros. Discovery revealed that its new Harry Potter series for HBO and HBO Max will premiere in 2027, with production underway in the UK. The series promises to be a faithful adaptation of the beloved book series, while the original Harry Potter films remain available on HBO Max. The show is planned as a decade-long project. Dominic McLaughlin stars as Harry Potter, joined by newcomers Alastair Stout and Arabella Stanton as Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. Additional cast members include Rory Wilmot (Neville Longbottom), Amos Kitson (Dudley Dursley), Louise Brealey (Madam Rolanda Hooch), and Anton Lesser (Garrick Ollivander). John Lithgow will portray Dumbledore. J.K. Rowling, the author of the Harry Potter series, serves as an executive producer despite controversy surrounding her comments.
