Twitch has announced several new updates at TwitchCon Europe, including the introduction of vertical livestreams and an open beta test for 2K streaming. The vertical livestream feature will enhance the viewing experience on mobile devices by allowing streams to be viewed in portrait mode. Twitch plans to enable dual format streaming, letting viewers watch streams in vertical or horizontal mode based on their device orientation. The feature will initially roll out to a small group of channels this summer and expand later in the year. Additionally, Twitch is launching an open beta for streaming at 1440p (2K) quality, available to all Twitch partners and affiliates, offering a noticeable improvement in stream clarity and detail compared to 1080p.
