Quantum Systems, a German drone manufacturer, has secured €160 million in funding, achieving a valuation exceeding €1 billion and becoming Europe’s latest defence technology unicorn. The company specializes in electric, AI-driven autonomous surveillance drones that have dual-use capabilities for both military and civilian applications. These drones assist defence forces in intelligence gathering and reconnaissance, while also supporting agricultural monitoring, energy infrastructure inspections, and search and rescue operations. Florian Seibel, co-CEO and co-founder, stated that the company is poised for further growth and innovation in the defence tech sector.
