Planet Labs Delivers Real-Time Global Monitoring with Its Satellite Subscription Service

In the early hours of May 3rd, a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket launched from Vandenberg Space Force Base carrying 45 satellites, including three from Planet Labs. These new satellites—Pelicans 7, 8, and 9—join Planet’s advanced constellation, now totaling nine high-resolution Earth observation spacecraft. Rather than simply selling satellite images, Planet Labs offers a subscription service that allows customers to monitor continuous, real-time changes across the entire planet.
