NBCUniversal announced a price increase for its Peacock streaming service. The ad-supported Peacock Premium plan will rise from $7.99 to $10.99 per month, and the ad-free Premium Plus plan will increase from $13.99 to $16.99 per month. New customers will see these changes effective July 23rd, while existing subscribers will experience the raise starting August 22nd or their next billing date. Yearly subscriptions are also affected, with Peacock Premium going from $79.99 to $109.99, and Premium Plus from $139.99 to $169.99 per year. Previously, Peacock raised prices by $2 ahead of the 2024 Summer Olympics, which it will continue streaming for the next decade. In addition to the increases, NBCUniversal will test a new ad-supported “Select” tier at $7.99 per month ($79.99 per year), offering access to NBC, Bravo, and select other content. Peacock’s growing original content slate includes popular shows like Poker Face, Love Island, and Dr. Death, and it will also stream NBA games later this year.
