Reed Hastings, the co-founder and longtime chair of Netflix, is stepping down after nearly three decades at the helm. The announcement comes as Netflix recovers following a missed $72bn deal with Warner Bros Discovery. Hastings will not seek re-election at the upcoming June annual meeting and plans to dedicate his time to philanthropy and other ventures, according to a letter Netflix shared with investors. The company emphasized this departure is not due to internal disagreements.
