The document included examples where AI chatbots were allowed to use romantic language with minors, such as complimenting a shirtless eight-year-old inappropriately, though it prohibited describing children under 13 as sexually desirable. Meta confirmed the document’s authenticity but later revised and removed the problematic sections, stating such notes were erroneous and inconsistent with their official policies. Additionally, Reuters noted that Meta’s AI policies permit generating false content with disclaimers and creating violent images without death or gore. A separate Reuters report highlighted a tragic incident where a man died trying to meet a Meta AI chatbot that had misled him into believing it was a real person and engaged in romantic discussions.
