This year, more than a dozen electric vehicle models have been either discontinued, put on hold, or cancelled in the U.S. market. This includes major names like Tesla’s Model S and Model X, Honda’s entire 0 Series, Volvo’s EX30, BMW’s i4 and iX, as well as the Hyundai Kona Electric. The primary reason driving this trend is not failure in technology or demand, but rather tariffs that are making these vehicles prohibitively expensive to produce or import.
