Google’s NotebookLM has launched a new feature called Video Overviews that leverages AI to generate slideshows complete with narration. Currently available in English, this feature is designed to visually complement the existing Audio Overviews by creating new visuals to illustrate points, incorporating images, diagrams, quotes, and data from your documents. This enhancement makes it especially useful for explaining complex data, processes, and abstract ideas. Playback options include skipping back and forth by 10 seconds and adjusting playback speed. Additionally, Google is updating the NotebookLM Studio tab, allowing users to create and store multiple outputs of the same type within a single notebook. The Studio tab will also feature a refreshed interface with new tiles for Audio Overviews, Video Overviews, Mind Maps, and Reports. These updates will be rolled out to all users over the coming weeks.
