Google is testing a new feature on mobile search results that generates AI-powered podcast-style audio summaries called Audio Overviews. This option appears below the “People also ask” section for certain queries. When users click “Generate Audio Overview,” it takes up to 40 seconds to create an audio summary featuring two AI hosts discussing the topic energetically. The audio player allows users to play, pause, mute, and adjust playback speed, with source links provided below. Currently, this feature is available only in English in the US and can be enabled through Labs. Google has expanded Audio Overviews across various platforms since its launch last year, incorporating notes, Gemini research, and Google Docs content.
