Google is upgrading Gemini Live, its AI assistant that engages in real-time conversations, with new capabilities launching next week. The assistant will be able to highlight objects directly on your screen using your smartphone camera, simplifying tasks like identifying specific tools during a project. This feature will debut on the Pixel 10 devices on August 28th and will simultaneously roll out to other Android phones and later to iOS devices. Additionally, Gemini Live will integrate with more apps like Messages, Phone, and Clock, enabling seamless task management such as sending texts during conversations. Google is also introducing an advanced audio model that enhances the assistant’s speech with natural intonation, rhythm, and pitch, allowing tone adjustments based on the topic and voice speed customization. The assistant can even adopt accents for engaging storytelling experiences.
