Microsoft announced during the Xbox Games Showcase that Gears of War: E-Day will launch in 2026, commemorating 20 years since the original game’s release and 25 years of Xbox. Developed by The Coalition, this new entry serves as an origin story set 14 years before the first Gears of War, focusing on the initial Locust emergence on Sera and starring Marcus Fenix. It’s the first main series installment since Gears 5 in 2019. Additionally, Microsoft revealed Gears of War: Reloaded, a remaster available August 26th on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation, and PC, featuring 4K, 120fps, cross-play, and multiplayer modes. Xbox chief Phil Spencer also confirmed other upcoming titles, including “the next Forza” and a classic series return, possibly Halo CE remaster.
