Denmark produces over 80% of its electricity from renewable energy, largely thanks to its extensive onshore and offshore wind farms. The country has become a global leader in clean energy transition, supported by Energinet, the grid operator that has invested decades in creating a system designed for a decarbonized future. However, the rapid increase of AI data centers is putting unexpected pressure on this otherwise sustainable power infrastructure. In response, Energinet recently halted new grid connections to maintain system stability.
