I always thought being an only child meant I had no twin. But with the power of AI, I now have a digital twin—an exact replica of me, from my appearance and voice to my unique mannerisms and environment. Using ElevenLabs, I cloned my voice with about 90 minutes of my own recordings and was astonished by how lifelike the result was, so much so that even my mother was convinced. To complete the experience, I used Synthesia to build a video avatar of myself that mirrored my natural gestures and expressions perfectly. This experiment revealed just how advanced AI cloning technology is today, and while the possibilities for creating content are vast, I’m cautious about letting digital twins replace personal connection. Instead, I see this technology’s true value as a way to preserve one’s voice and presence for the future—like a digital time capsule that could keep a moment alive forever.
