This caused surprise given Coinbase’s stature as the leading crypto exchange and a significant Bitcoin holder. The announcement took place in a relatively empty room during a day themed ‘Code and Country’, featuring panels with Republican figures and campaign consultants including Chris LaCivita, who co-chaired Donald Trump’s 2024 campaign.
