OpenAI’s ChatGPT receives more than 2.5 billion prompts each day, with 330 million of these coming from users in the United States, according to Axios data. This translates to approximately 912.5 billion requests annually. OpenAI confirmed the accuracy of these figures. While ChatGPT’s usage still trails Google’s 5 trillion annual searches, its rapid growth is significant, with weekly users increasing from 300 million in December to over 500 million in March. Additionally, OpenAI is reportedly developing an AI-powered web browser to compete with Google Chrome and recently introduced ChatGPT Agent, a tool that automates tasks on users’ computers.
