After four decades focused on design software for engineers and architects, Autodesk is moving into the operations space by acquiring MaintainX, a platform specializing in maintenance and operations. The deal, valued at approximately $3.6 billion in cash, marks Autodesk’s strategic shift to support clients beyond the design phase and into the lifecycle management of buildings, factories, and machinery.
