Canva users can now leverage Anthropic’s Claude AI to create, edit, and manage designs using natural language prompts. This new integration enables users to perform tasks such as creating presentations, resizing images, and filling premade templates directly within the Claude chatbot interface. Additionally, users can search and summarize content from Canva Docs, Presentations, and brand templates through Claude. This feature requires both a paid Canva subscription starting at $15 per month and a paid Claude account at $17 per month. The integration uses Canva’s Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, which securely connects Claude to user content. MCP is an open-source standard adopted by companies like Anthropic, Microsoft, Figma, and Canva to facilitate AI model connections with apps and services. According to Canva’s Ecosystem head Anwar Haneef, this marks a significant shift towards AI-first workflows combining creativity and productivity. Claude is the first AI assistant to support Canva design workflows via MCP and also offers integrations with other design platforms such as Figma. A new Claude integrations directory has launched to help users explore all connected tools easily.
