Amazon has acquired Bee, a startup known for its AI-powered wearable device that listens to conversations and generates personalized insights. The $49.99 Bee device, similar to a Fitbit, uses AI to transcribe conversations and provide summaries, reminders, and suggestions through the Bee app. It can also access emails, contacts, location, and calendar events with user permission to create a searchable activity history. Bee CEO Maria de Lourdes Zollo shared on LinkedIn that the company is joining Amazon to expand personal AI technology to more users. Amazon emphasized its commitment to privacy, assuring users of strong data protection and user control. The terms of the acquisition remain confidential, and Bee employees have been offered roles at Amazon.
